Fire Causes Minor Damage to Gerharz Funeral Home

Lemont firefighters Tuesday morning were able to quickly extinguish a small fire at Gerharz Funeral Home, 501 State St. The fire started around 7:30 a.m. on the second floor and crawled up a wall, damaging a soffit and a portion of the roof, said Battalion Chief Tim Oslakovich.
