WASHINGTON - PBS is rebroadcasting a series on the Great Depression of the 1930s, an exodus decade that defined modern South Dakota more than any other.

The fire broke out about noon midway between Lemmon and Bison. Lemmon Assistant Fire Chief Harlan Hess says the Lemmon, Bison, Grand River, Lodgepole and Meadow fire departments in South Dakota, Hettinger and Reeder from North Dakota, the U.S. Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management units fought the fire for about 3 hours.
