Downtown Salt Lake City, Layton gas leaks stall TRAX, evacuate homes
A natural gas leak that shut down a two-block section of downtown Salt Lake City and TRAX light rail service through the area late Thursday kept repair crews busy well into Friday morning.

Layton fire spokesman Doug Bitton said construction crews were working about 1:15 p.m. near 2200 West and Antelope Drive when they accidentally struck at 4-inch natural gas pipeline while boring into the street.
