Excellent Job
Los Angeles, CA

Loss of life is only tragic when the wrong life is ended. Perfect outcome in this scenario and God Bless Hawthorne PD, Gardena PD, and the LASD for a job well done! If I forgot anyone else, I apologize in advance. Great teamwork and kudos to LACO FD for treating the injured Deputy. Attn any naysayers: The rightgeous prevailed today and evil was struck down. If this criminal was willing to choose off the cops with a handgun [or any weapon for that matter], what do you think he would have done to you or your unarmed loved ones? Great Job and God bless the USA! All LEOs and Soldiers should be proud for the service and sacrifice they make daily.

But if you're a psychopath, the best time in hawthorne to do your crime, is when you hear HPD rushing to suck the penii of the LA sheriff and torrance PD. specially that short stubby fat POS Hawthorne "officer" with those fruity sideburns who banks at Albertsons. You have been busted -- driving while drunk - they know who you are. You're such an ID10T!

I live in this area and it happened not long after I put my child to bed. I was watching some tv and heard what I thought was firecrackers. There had to have been between 20-30 shots fired. When I heard the first siren, I realized what had happened. I watched the aftermath from my front door. There were dozens of cop cars, 2 helicopters, ambulance and the Fire Dept. After this I am ready to move!! But where can a single mom who works and goes to school go that I can afford??? My child's safety comes first and these scenarios are happening more and more on Prairie Ave.

You should join Neighborhood Watch and get the community together (it's hard let me tell you - they don't want to get invovled). Eventually, people will get sick and tired of the violence surrounding them and hopefully your neighborhood will unite as one!

Idiot, RB ends at Hawthorne Blvd. Prairie Ave is further east. If it was RB it would be RBPD not the sheriff who patrols Lawndale. sheesus wrote: Hey DB -- the suspect was shot in REDONDO BEACH not Lawndale!

Yeah it's true lawndale is becoming too denily populated with tons of gangs and gang members. Oww that city geting too dangerous, funny thing how federal agents were in the area and responded to help with the situation. Man o man these illegal immigrant gangs like ms13 are spreading and will eventually take up most of lawndale. Time for nobama to start deportation of illegal immigrant gang members, it's the federal governments miskate for not deploying the army to protect the Mexico border, and now we have to bear the costs of Mexican thugs. Good shoot lasd, and I hope the deputy recovers soon since it was just a minor shot to the upper shoulder. I should put in the word to promote the duputy to sgt in the future, good job deputy and hope u feel better.

This was crazy, I was on Prairie Blvd when they drove by. I heard just cop car after cop car going by, I thought the president was being escorted through town! Seriously, siren after siren passed by for a solid 10 minutes, just to have more flying by 20 minutes after the scene. Ridicules amount of man power just for one guy. I even saw 5 unmarked cars flying by, It looked like a Christmas show at the end of the block! I could had robbed all the banks in the south bay and got away with it. Waste of taxpayers money I tell you. They still had Prairie blocked of this morning with sheriffs all around just talking and eating donuts. Of course they killed the guy, no surprise there. And this all started when his mom called the cops on him. RIP guy. And get back to work coppers!

Try living anywhere north of where you are at. If you go blocks south you hit Torrance and thats the "perfect" city. Stop living in fear.

This explains the ghetto bird hovering last night. When is Law Enforcement around here going to do their jobs and get the gangs OUT. This use to be a great quiet neighborhood, now shooting here and shooting there.... tax payers slowly disappearing, we are doomed
