Single-family home prices tumble

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Prices of single-family homes plunged a record 14.1 percent in the first quarter from a year earlier, marking a pace five times faster than the last housing recession, data showed on Tuesday.
The Standard & Poor's/Case Shiller composite index of 20 metropolitan areas fell 2.2 percent in March from February and plummeted a record 14.4 percent from a year ago.
"There are very few silver linings that one can see in the data," David Blitzer, chairman of S&P's index committee, said in a statement.

A lawyer for suspended Dallas Cowboys' player Adam "Pacman" Jones says he's sending a check to the district attorney to repay a $20,000 debt to a Las Vegas casino.
Court documents show Clark County District Attorney David Roger is seeking a felony arrest warrant for the 24-year-old player unless he pays the bill.
Jones' lawyer Manny Arora acknowledges his client owes the money. He says he's sending a check Friday for the entire amount.
The DA alleges Jones wrote two bad checks for $5,000 and one for $10,000, last Sept. 3 at Caesars Palace. The case was first reported by the Las Vegas Sun.
