No one mentions the damage done by the Safeway truck that overturned on that very section of the bridge where they "fixed" it again. Or the 70 MPH winds of the last huge storm we had (first of the season). No, because no one was monitoring the Labor Day fix. The damage was occurring all of that time, not just the 30 MPH winds that they cite as the reason it fell apart. Convenient explanation that diverts attention to the on going problem.
We are all in jeopardy with the people whose oversight and judgement we depend on.
Not surprised

Sure--close the bridge again to install a "permanent" fix...on a bride that is WAY behind its scheduled date of demolition! Those CALTRANS bozos -all on fat overtime- are featherbedding their jobs and sticking it to us. What a joke. The replacement bridge is the laughing stock of the Engineering world....Billions over budget, decades in the making...and many dears before done. The Chinese would have built it in 1 year! And under budget! Just look to the new HK airport bridge for proof. Caltrans is arrogantly giving all of us the bird!

Yeah, cause stuff made in China has such a good reputation for being quality. My Chinese coworker hired a non licensed Chinese contractor to do a bunch of work in his house... it turned out looking like something 20 high school kids did on a weekend as part of a community service project. Not saying i'm happy with how things are going, but outsourcing it to a Chinese company? No thanks... I would rather see our tax dollars get spent to pay CA tax payers... let's keep the money close to home, not send it to another country.

Daily Horoscope for December 26

Libra

Believe it or not, 2010 is almost round the corner. Start thinking about what you want to achieve next year. If that means admitting defeat in some projects that you tried and failed to launch this year, then so be it. Mercury turns today in your house of endings, so confusion from the past may be resolved in coming weeks. Onwards and upwards!
