LAKEWOOD – Residents and officials are talking about how to prevent the Turnberry lakes from turning into swamp land when a key taxing authority expires at the end of 2014.

The two candidates in the March 20 Republican primary election for the 33rd Senate District may have had vastly different journeys to the same point, but both say their background will help them adjust to the demands of Springfield.

There were more than 100 traffic accidents in 2011 along the mile stretch of Randall Road in Lake in the Hills.A As was the case in 2010, three intersections along the stretch - Randall and Miller roads, Randall and Algonquin roads and Randall Road and Acorn Lane - saw the highest number of accidents in Lake in the Hills in 2011.
