Once again, nothing good happens at 2am. They probably started at Legend's and then went to the Pike to do battle.

We need to shut these bars down earlier! Mostly drunken fools out after 2am. In the mean time welcome to Long Beach!

At least these two weren't shooting guns at each other, and no one died. That's a distinct improvement in behavior for this city.

Did LBPD go home at midnight??? Why no enforcement around these areas after 2???
LBPD is overwhelmed in West Long Beach. The uncivilized "baby's of the baby's who have baby's" plus the infestation of unsimilating illegals keeps the LBPD very busy.

The Good news is that LB sends a clear signal that we are easy marks. We elect ridiculous leaders wihcih paint us as idiots.

We should be thankful that the Press Telegram alerts people to the danger faced by persons being out on the street since the corrupt Long Beach politicians criminalized decent hard working eatery and places of entertainment owners who used to legally serve decent patrons who smoke tobacco. These establishments have the choice of either serving the dangerous hoodlum element who moved in to take their place or go bankrupt. Its all a matter of economics.

"The Pike" is definitely not the family-friendly entertainment district that city officials envisioned it to be.

It's a shame. I lost a good friend who was killed in the parking structure adjacent to the Pike a few months ago, in a case of being at the wrong place at the wrong time. I hope this Seal Beach man pulls through.

So let me guess the defense strategy. Just a bunch of "nice, family oriented, hard working guys out for an evening spending quality time together." Sounds to me like too much alcohol (illegal drug?) consumption mixed with an excess of testosterone. Oh, nice touch by going out packing. Oh yeah, for self defense purposes only. Right. Oh well, say hello to your new cellmate Bubba. Next!

P.S.- Their scumbag defense attorneys will probably also blame the guy who got knocked out, hit his head on the pavement and was hospitalized for being such a bully to these nice guys.

It's just horrible that Mr. James traveled all the way from Lake Elsinore to Long Beach, only to have his fists and feet beaten up so badly by that ruffian's face and head.

Long Beach really isn' that bad if you follow a few basic rules while you make plans to refugee back to a proud American State.

If you MUST go out after dark for shopping, dining, enterainment etc. tell your family or friends to look straigh ahead until you are safely out of Long Beach. Once you arrive in Torrance, Huntington Beach etc. you can breahe a sigh of relief and have a pleasant evening.

Second, Be safely back HOME with all doors and windows locked, by midnight.

As Long Beach disolves into the 2009 version of Watts it is good to follow basic rules.

It would be unfair to blame the abysmal qualtiy of leadership in Long Beach purely on the self serving Unions who have no care and concern for their friends, neighbors, relatives, or fellow citizens.

Unions in other States have standards. Democrats in other Cities and States have standards. Long Beach and California are near collapse which would be unacceptable to Union members in the other States.

After all, both Unions members and Democratic voters in the other 49 States are parents who consider what is best for their children.

A few years ago, downtown Long Beach was awesome. Now if you stand at 3rd Street and Pine Avenue, three out of four businesses on that busy corner are shuttered. Long Beach belongs to welfare moms, street thugs, and the Lowenthals. If you aren't a member of one of the aforementioned groups, get out while you still have time.

Too dangerous to stand at that corner, drive past in your car instead. Keep the windows up.

At 2:00 a.m., there's no public place that's "family friendly". Get real.

How long do you think it will take for the city to declare all those lovely, waterfront condos as Section 8 housing? You know they want it...
