Brownsville officials won't budge on San Benito's request that they return land south of town, Mayor Joe Hernandez said Monday, and described negotiations as "a mess." Now Brownsville officials want the city of Harlingen to take part in any negotiations with San Benito, Ben Medina, Brownsville's planning director, said.

Editor: It's "cherry pickin' " at its worst! I just finished reading the VMS article in the March 10 edition dealing with the City of Brownsville annexations of surrounding areas that brought out unfavorable comments by officials from smaller communities like Rio Hondo, Laguna Vista and Los Indios.
