'Spooks to Spirits' author will show artwork at Chapters
The McMinnville resident will show her artwork while signing copies of the first volume of her "Spooks to Spirits" book series. Ward, a McMinnville resident, released the Lafayette and McMinnville installment of the book series in mid-2011, which focuses on Yamhill County locales and covers haunted places and "places you should haunt.

Yamhill County Sheriff's Marine Patrol crew members resuced a boater stranded on the Willamette River Sunday evening about a mile downriver from the Wheatland Ferry.
Pedophile formerly of Newberg gets 20 years
A former Newberg resident was sentenced to 20 years behind bars Monday morning, with no option for early release, after pleading guilty to four sex crimes. Joshua Lee Pollay, 30, was living in Lafayette at the time of his arrest May 16 on charges that in 2008 he molested a then-7-year-old girl he had been baby-sitting.
