Mary Lou Lanning, 78 of McNabb, formerly of Streator, passed away Monday morning, Jan.

The National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory this morning that remains in effect from noon to midnight tonight.

Richard Lee Crook, 68, of Henry died at 8 a.m. Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, at his residence in Henry.

I was chatting with a friend the other day when he said, "Well, there's more than one way to skin a cat." I don't remember what we were talking about at the time, or why he felt that cat-skinning options would be an appropriate issue to raise, but the notion took root in my brain.
