Hearing for mom in child's drug death By Donnie Forti RHINELANDER -- A northern Wisconsin mother accused of felony child neglect in her daughter's death from an overdose of morphine returns to court today.

LAC DU FLAMBEAU, Wis. The two law officers meeting over breakfast at the Lake of the Torches Casino had not gone there looking for trouble, but they found it when they walked out into the sunshine and saw two teenagers flashing bills in the parking lot.

One Lac Du Flambeau woman is dead and two others are hospitalized.. in what police are calling a likely drug overdose.

Lac Du Flambeau Schools will re-open Thursday morning. The Headstart program located in the public school will remain closed until Monday.
