Licensing is a must to protect our pets and communities. The real issue is What is going on at the Inland Valley Humane Society? I have spoken to many rescue groups and individuals that tell me horror stories dealing with the common sense and unwillingness to help with the best interest of the animals. Just ask some of these rescue groups how other humane society willing & want rescue groups to help them with their overcrowding, seems not so willing at IVHS. Individual have micro chipped pet that are missed at the IVHS and I wonder how many of these have been put to sleep by missing the micro chip? I personally have had issues with them, but I really was disgusted when I saw quarantined dogs next to healthy one, of course, being exposed, hope it wasn't your dog. Just a few of the facts that makes me question how our tax dollars are spent by all of these cities that are serviced by the IVHS. What is their problem with embracing these rescue group? Helping families comply with the laws of licening their pets and running a business that is paid to do what their should be doing as an effort to better our cities by not harassing but helping our community with their beloved pets. We need to ban together and find others that have had issues with IVHS and find a resolution to a huge ongoing problem. After all we are paying higher tax dollars because of increased fees to the IVHS, and I am unsure as to were those funds are going to? Is it improvement for the animals or the staff? I hope that more money is being spent in Vet services that can do more low cost shot clinics, spaying and neutering and care. Lower licensing fees and some feral care is highly in need.

Animal control people are public servants. They need to realize this and start acting like they work for us and at our discretion.

If you care about animals, as you should if you own one, you wouldn't be so cheap as to not license your pet every year. Inland Valley Humane Society depends on these fees as well as donations to run. They pick up strays from the street, and animals that have been run over. They treat all animals, and accept all animals whether they are healthy or not.
Shame on you for fighting a 10 dollar fee( if it's higher then you are behind for years or don't have an altered animal) If you don't have an altered animal, that is the big reason why we need animal shelters because of all the puppies no one wants to have. I just rescued a puppy in San Dimas a couple of months ago who had been roaming the streets for a while according to the scars on him! If you are fighting a service that helps all animals, then you deserve to have your pets taken away from you and given to someone who cares! |

Do you people still use those choke sticks? |
||||
What do you mean by you people? I do not work at Inland Valley, I am a citizen who appreciates the public service they provide(Which is run a big part by volunteers). Of course all animal service use the poles to capture animals. It helps to keep a safe distance from a scared and then potentially dangerous animal. Do YOU want to grab an animal without a collar by your hands? Quit complaining and get a life. There are much worse things than trying to rebel against a 10 dollar licensing fee. Public servants, Bruce, would be the animal control services in Baldwin Park. Inland Valley Humane is a private shelter. Why don't you try volunteering at a shelter before you attack people who have their hearts in the right places. License fees help the shelter keep all the strays that come in, without the money they get euthanized. They do not get state kick backs that county does. |

Thank you for your kind response. I assumed you worked for some kind of agency. I have had some experience working with animals, as I used to work at a "humane" society. I can tell you from experience that what the public is led to perceive and what really happens are two very different things. The public is basically treated as a much of schmucks while the staff of most places play god with both the public and the animals. I know there are exceptions and I did not work here locally. I have had both good and bad experiences with the place in San Gabriel. I have saved many animal lives over the years and will work with people that really care for animals. The only times I used the choke stick was when the animal was scared and/or out of control. Most animals are easily read by people that know what they are doing and don't unnecessarily intimidate the animals. I have a very busy life, thank you. |

BREE WANT TO VOLUNTEER FOR SOMETHING?..THE USMC IS RECRUITING GO VOLUNTEER SMART AZZ! |

ps. you would be surprised just how many pets get "euthanized" daily. It is a very sad thing to watch. I think if the public were allowed to watch this tragic event, they might be more inclined not to contribute to the problem.

I was looking back trying to see where I might have indicated that I was against licensing dogs, I don't see it.

I went and read the reviews available on this Pomona location and as I thought, they were very polar and mixed. Yelp has some interesting ones. It sounds very typical and similar to my experiences at other shelters. The god complex was very apparent. I do not think people should tolerate much of how the public is treated by these people. The good is always appreciated, but they are just human like the rest of us and should not try to be so high and mighty.

Bruce, I don't think that Bree likes you........:(
|
||||
Seems that way huh? Oh well as long as you like me, I'm happy. |
||||
Listen Bree, my pets are like my family. If you think you or anyone else is going to "take them away", there is going to be trouble. I'm sure most people would agree with me on this. I will always question authority, it is my right and how I was taught that responsible free citizens act. As I said before, people with badges and little outfits work for us, not the other way around, public servants serve the public. We pay their salaries, we did not set them up to rule. |

I have been attacked by the ole dog catcher! Heartless bastard! They need people training. You shouldn't give Barney's authority, it goes to their head.

I think Bree is correct...I believe there are fewer animals roaming the streets due to this requirement to license animals. Love animals but don't want to encounter strays on the streets. It's scary for them and scary for me as I take my own dogs on walks.
Now, as far as the atitude of some of the workers...you are probably correct. You find people like this in all occupations, though. |

I have been told that this Pomona location is a private enterprise. How in the hell does a private enterprise sell something that is required? That's bul lshit. Imagine if you were forced to buy something from me?
|

I love your patriotism! I wish others felt the same way. It's our right and responsibility to question authority! |

Try questioning authority with your next traffic violation..."don't taze me bro!" |
|||
I have! If I know I've done something wrong, I accept my consequences. If I haven't, then I will/do question authority. Shouldn't you be showering?!? Haha |
