Defying snow, ice and cold, four Lutheran churches in and around Hanska held a Sunday morning social gathering and worship service in a heated horse stable and unheated indoor arena.

For 151 years Linden Lutheran Church of rural Hanska has been holding church services for its members, but today the church is officially holding its last service.

A rural La Salle man is dead after a farming accident.Watonwan County authorities were called to 29510 750th Avenue around 7:30 last night... where they found 82 year old John James Nasman pinned under his tractor.Nasman was dead at the scene, and authorities believe the accident happened some time earlier that day.
