Two boys who miraculously survived a car explosion Tuesday have already requested their homework and will have books delivered so they can keep up with their studies, a school official said after a Thursday prayer service held for the family in Monroe.

Erik G. Chappell, 42, of La Salle, and his sons, 11 and 13, were wounded about 5:40 p.m. when the bomb exploded near the center of the car as they drove in Monroe, Mich.
