Betty Jean Pienta, 82, of Spring Valley, passed away peacefully in her home with her husband and children by her side, at 12:15 p.m. Saturday, June 15. She courageously battled cancer for the last three and a half years.

Illinois Valley Community College's Continuing Education office will host Sciensational Electronics Lab Camp for children ages 7 to 12, Monday, June 24, through Thursday, June 27. Students will perform 30 different projects and experiments with their own electronics kit in the hands-on workshop.
