The City Council has named 24 members to a Citizens Task Force on Finances and Operation to advise it on how to solve its budget problems and how to pay for about $77 million in infrastructure needs.

Veterans Day celebration at senior center The Whittier Senior Center is celebrating veterans from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the senior center, 13225 Walnut St.
