An April snowstorm is prompting chain and snow tire requirements in the Sierra. Here is a list issued Thursday night by the Nevada Department of Transportation: I-80: Between Alta California Exit 146 and 1.0 miles west of Truckee California Exit 188A.

A big rig driver was airlifted to hospital following a wreck with a car on Highway 50 between Kyburz and Strawberry around 10 a.m. on Monday.

Highway 50 was closed in both directions near Kyburz on Monday after a big rig collided with a car before overturning and spilling about six to seven tons of sand across the roadway.
