TV report prompts changes in Kingston Springs fire program
Kingston Springs city manager Laurie Cooper outlined amendments to the city's fire department incentive program and recommendations for changes after a recent Channel 4 I-Team news report alleged that several employees had abused the program, forcing officials to take a closer look at some of the procedures.

County news: Property tax notices mailed out
Cheatham County residents can start paying their property taxes. County trustee Dot Jones reports that her office mailed the tax notices on Nov. 12. The taxes must be paid by Feb. 28. Residents in Ashland City and Kingston Springs must also pay their city taxes by that date as well.
Theater group staging holiday show
Cheatham County Community Theater was founded in the fall of 2000 with the Harpeth High School theater as its home base for staging.
Cities may owe back liquor tax
Ashland City and Kingston Springs may owe thousands of dollars to the Cheatham County school district after a portion of the state's liquor-by-the-drink tax did not end up in the hands of the district.

Kingston Springs to make changes after television report
Cooper is recommending that salaried employees not participate in the incentive program, three employees who mistakenly received money from the program in the past repay the funds and oversight of the program be moved from the fire department to the city recorder's office.
Briefs: Veterans Day program is Monday
The American Legion Post 40 will sponsor the annual Veterans Day program on the Cheatham County Courthouse lawn in Ashland City on Monday, Nov. 11 beginning at 11 a.m. All veterans are invited to attend the program.
