MBTA to receive transportation stimulus grants

The Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority will receive $2.5 million in federal stimulus money to add renewable energy generators to their properties, the U.S. Department of Transportation announced Monday.

The MBTA plans to use its $2.5 million in stimulus funds to design and construct wind turbines at its facilities in Kingston, Newburyport and Bridgewater.
