To the Editor: On Nov. 9, a fire destroyed a duplex in Sycamore. Sycamore firefighters, along with service personnel from Burlington, Cortland, DeKalb, Elburn, Genoa-Kingston, Hampshire, Malta and Maple Park quickly arrived to safely contain the blaze.

SYCAMORE – The DeKalb County Board passed a balanced budget on Wednesday – and avoided a $1.7 million deficit – by transferring nearly the same amount from a special fund into the general fund.
