Full story: ChowHound

Although I live in Los Angeles, my family used to travel frequently to New York and we spent a great deal of time at the Homowack.

The Homowack was closed down this past summer by the State Health Dept. The only Hotel left and still open is Kutsher's Country Club, that is still Kosher. We still live in Kiamesha Lake the home of the old Concord Hotel.

The critters are coming out of your hair. Try showering up more often, hillbilly.

so nice to know that jenny elliot is such a tolerent, warm and welcoming individual! Hatred without cause or a clear understanding is simple intolerable!! Hassids are only one sect of the Jewish people, and one unfortunately that even today, fails to even recognize the more modern, secular Jews, many of whom reside in Sullivan County year round. The invasion of the intolerent Hassids is not well appreciated by the secular Jews either, but we'd hardly call them 'dirty critters.' You ought to be ashamed of yourself, free-speech notwithstanding!!

jenny sounds like the type of person who has not had the honor of experiencing the type of multi-national-racial-religiou s-ethnic diversity that we had in Sullivan County,( where I worked at the Concord Hotel for 7 years, as a Catholic, btw,)We were fortunate enough to live 90 miles from NYC, where probably most, if not all, of her ancestors came from, many years sgo, to escape from the type of bigotry she has expressed in her posting

Sullivan County...were it not for the poor Jewish people years ago ,trying to get out of stinking hot innercity, for a breath of fresh air,Sullivan county would look like it does now, years ago!..devoid of any culture, fame, and class.
The industry created by the many resorts brought in a lot of money into the local economy. The huge conventions, were not Jewish, from all over mainline corporations came ,with their big money...Now gone Forever
Those of us who were born, and grew up there were an integral part of this Summertime experience. We,The local Christens got along just fine with the Summer people!
Now its gone, nothing left, traditions die, interests go elsewhere, whats left seems to be Monticello and liberty as a slum area...no longer the garden Spots Of The Catskills!!
There are Jewish people there. The Ultra Hasidim people.A different flavor. But no where near the great Jewish people before them.
Now it seems the Yasgar Bethel Woodstock thing is trying..However it does not bring the huge cash into the area. The Raceway, once an elegant racetrack, now a wreck of broken down ,3rd rate racing...gone!
Some with wealth play with their cars now on the Old Monticello Airport.Converted to an exclusive club....
Dreamers want to recreate the Concord,The Crossings,The Neville, and so many others, forget it its gone!
Life was good then...not any more in the Catskills!!...Its "SHITS" like Jenny Elliot" who is a Jew Hating Racist,Who probably never was in Sullivan county anyway....Ignorams supreme!

Daily Horoscope for January 1

Capricorn

Happy New Year, Capricorn! I don't think the hair of the dog will help much this morning! If you're socialising again today, keep a rein on your expenses, as there could be a slight confusion in financial matters. Friends will be at your side and bail you out if there is a crisis. Use your strong internal discipline to accomplish your personal goals this year.
