As we enter wild fire season, area law enforcement agencies are preparing for the worst.

State regulators have agreed to let TransCanada Keystone cancel $15 million in bonds it had posted to cover any damage to roads and bridges while it was building a crude oil pipeline across eastern South Dakota.

Pride week begins Monday in Rapid City and runs through Saturday. That means there is free disposal of trash and recyclables at the landfill for small load customers.

The crash happened at about 4 a.m. between Wasta and New Underwood, said Lt. Rick Miller of the South Dakota Highway Patrol.
