Thoughts to family and friends left behind. The story didn't give any info about the crash but the headline screams out "MOTORCYCLE HITS CAR", writers guess..??

A 70-something year old woman crossed over into the motorcycle rider's lane, and killed the two riders.
It was an accident, and the driver is heartbroken from what I understand. I knew the riders, and they were dear wonderful people. |

First the title of this should change to reflect that the motorcycle did not hit the car. The driver of the car came over the center lane and struck the motorcycle. It is always the motorcycle to blame.
NOT. It is the lack of attention and the selfishness of drivers not paying attention. If all drivers would learn to look and listen and above all obey the laws these types of accidents would not happen. I was on that road before and after this accident occured. While riding my motorcycle on that same road I had a jeep cherokee pass me doing over 70 miles an hour. In closing I hope that all the reporters get the facts and stop sensationalizing especially when fine people are killed. THE CAR HIT THE MOTORCYCLE WHILE IT WAS OBEYING THE LAWS. |

I am very sorry to the family and friends of these individuals for the incident is tragic and will obviously be painful beyond our understanding.
I was in Kernville this weekend and I am almost certain I saw these two riding up the canyon while my buddy and I we were coming down from an early morning fishing trip. Unfortunately, we have a story to tell as our experience was that of momentary panic as two riders with open face helmets crossed the line into our lane and barely pulled back in time. Luckily my buddy is a very good driver and was able to not only break in the turn but ride the edge of the cliff on the outside line. As for the bikers, the man was driving and I think he was wearing a purple shirt but the girl was definitely wearing a pink shirt. Having an open face helmet young woman's face was that of darling.- Somewhat of a baby face.- Shockingly though, the situation they were in didn't warrant a big smile from her considering the danger they were in but at the moment she truly looked like she was having an absolutely great time and oblivious to what was happening. Having recently suffered a dirt bike riding accident that has disabled me for four months now, I was instantly upset and nearly screaming at what we experienced. The rider of the bike was obviously very green and didn't have the experience to do what he was doing, especially with a cute passenger and I hate to admit it but the first thing I said was that they were going to get themselves killed. OMG I have little doubt the woman driving the car probably crossed the line.- I wasn't there so we'll go with what we hear. However, I can tell you that after thirty years of riding experience, when you are riding a canyon and taking an inside turn, you never, ever, ride the outside line.- Period!- And that was what they did to us. Had they been riding their inside line at the moment of impact, the woman crossing the line would have most likely been only a frightening moment. Gezzz, I can see the girls face vividly and it makes me sick. I pray for the people who died and for some reason I have absolutely no doubt in my heart that it was them. They should have never been on a bike, especially in a tight canyon and on a very unusually busy weekend. God bless. Chuck |

You are incorrect sir. Jim was a seasoned rider and Debbie was not wearing a purple shirt but a white one. You should not make assumptions when the loss of life is traumatic for the family.
