A rural Kenyon man has been sentenced to a year in jail for a drunken driving crash that killed a former high school wrestling star.

Minnesota Highway 56 between Kenyon and West Concord will be closed beginning June 4 for a pavement reclamation and resurfacing project that will continue through September, weather permitting.

Investigators say a Rice County man was so desperate to derail a criminal case against him that he tried to hire a hit man to kill the lead witness.
