I'll wager a response by Jim that this was probably caused by the arrogance of the bycyclist.

Put down the beverage and try spelling correctly! Jerk! Oh, and stay off the roads. |

Thank God for the West Marin fire departments. 24 / 7 they respond to the call for help. The volunteers of the Muir Beach, Stinson Beach, Bolinas, Inverness Nicasio and Tomales fire departments are truly heros. The Marin County Fire Department paramedics stationed out of Point Reyes Station are the "doctors" of West Marin on the weekends and after hours when the clinic closes. Lifesavers one & all. They are " the last of the doctors who make house calls" when the hospital is over an hour away. Myself, my wife and my daughter thank you.

EMTs (SF and Marin) are the Best. (also a small personal shout-out of thanks again to SF General [bad bike crash of mine that had nothing to do w/arrogance]).

From the sounds of it, you came out O.K.I hope you
did not misinterpret my post as laughing at you, if you were indeed the biker in the accident. I was laughing at the poster's remark about Jim. That guy never ceases to amaze me. |

This is why i'll take MTN biking over road biking any day. At least I don't have to worry about somebody elses mistakes taking me out.
BTW, what's up with some of the road bikers that insist in riding on the side of the road when there is a paved bike trail right next to it? I do share the road, but damn when i see that, I really wanna open my window and blow a whistle really loud to scare some sense into them. Novato Blvd heading towards the cheese factory is a great example of this. This is a stretch or road before Stafford where I wanted to do this to 3 seperate bikers this past weekend. |

Have you looked at that path closely? It's completely decrepit - the pavement has failed in several locations and it's too narrow for someone moving at a decent clip and two-way traffic on it. Joggers and inexperienced cyclists may like it but I'd rather take the risk of riding in the road (which is legal even if there is a path) than deal with that mess. The sight lines along that section of Novato Blvd are quite good so there really shouldn't be a problem for motorists moving to the left and passing. And before the grenades start flying, I'm not advocating that cyclists should be riding abreast. |
