Man Convicted Of Murdering Friend To Be Sentenced
A Waubun, Minn. man convicted last week of first-degree murder for killing his childhood friend will be sentenced Thursday.
Authorities say that 34-year-old Kenneth Andersen shot 33-year-old Chad Swedberg, of rural Ogema, twice with a high-powered rifle on April 13, 2007, while Swedberg was out gathering maple syrup.
The two had grown up together and worked at the same construction job until Swedberg was killed.
Andersen has contended he was framed for the crime and last week he told a reporter for The Forum in Fargo that he would appeal his conviction.
