There's a new band in town and it will make its debut Saturday night at the Kenly Country Junction, in the former Wilkinson's Hardware building.

Gas odor closes Kenly town hall
Kenly Town Hall has been closed since roughly 9:30 a.m. because of a strong fuel odor present in the building, according to police chief Josh Gibson.

The Johnston County Sheriff's Office said 24-year old Jeremy Howell was arrested Friday, four days after his home on Pebble Lane was destroyed by flames.

Car crashes into woods off I-95 at PETRO
Two people were seriously injured today in an accident off of I-95 at the 106 exit near Kenly 95 PETRO after a silver Nissan Frontier struck a tree a wooded area after running off the road.
The accident happened around 11:30 a.m. along Johnston Parkway and Truck Stop Road just off I-95, about a mile southwest of Kenly.
