Pot protest fills Keene square again

Full story: UnionLeader.com

With the flick of a Bic and the bull-horned battle cry of, "Smoke 'em, if you got 'em," nearly 75 people gathered to protest drug laws by lighting up, once again, in downtown's Central Square.

A protest is one thing. But if the law is being broken, the word "anarchy" better describes what is happening. If they can get away with breaking the law why can't the rest of us do our thing and break the law too?

If protesting made a difference than that would be an option. We are now in an unjust system and now the real question is what are we willing to do about it. New laws are made by those who are willing to stand up to the punishments publically to show everyone just how unjust that law is. Ultimately people govern themselves, its all just a matter of perspective and people these days are under this crazy impression that laws, and money for that matter, are something set up to help them when in reality it is just a control scheme to keep you distracted from the real point. If there are enough people doing something its kinda hard to stop them all legal or not and trust me it has nothing to do with your well being. People have forgotten the spirit of freedom and that anything can be changed if you try hard enough. Nothing lasts forever and freedom in this country is shrinking by the hour! Change only takes place if enough people are willing to face the potential punishments and not back down in the face of danger. Too many americans these days are unwilling to get their hands dirty so to speak (or at least do it publically-how many pot smokers do you think there are? Here's a hint: Roger Roffman, a professor of social work at the University of Washington, asserted in July 2009 that "approximately 3.6 million Americans are daily or near daily users"). Really we should ask ourselves how these laws came into place and for whose benefit. People should take a peak at the history of the Federal Reserve. People ask all the wrong questions these days and its by design. If people want change they must demand it and be willing and able to back up that demand. That is how America was formed! The type of cowardice (and simple unwillingness to think) shown on a regular basis by the average american would make the patriots that founded this country turn over in their graves!

Daily Horoscope for November 29

Aries

How you feel about your values and how your associates feel may not mesh too well today; avoid conversations about morals and scruples. Of course, you could be a politician or a religious worker, in which case you may be tiring of your own rhetoric. It's hard to be good all the time, especially when everyone else seems to be having a jolly time being bad.
