The stretch of I-70 in the Feather River Canyon appears to be one of the most peaceful settings in Plumas County, but three decades ago, a monster invaded the town of Keddie.

Updated 5:40 p.m. - CHP says two victims are still missing at this time and allegedly in the vehicle under 25 feet of water.

Beginning Wednesday, Oct. 12 through Saturday, Oct. 15 motorists are advised to anticipate 30 to 60 minute delays on State Route 70 near Keddie, between Quincy and the Greenville "Y." Cal Trans, PG&E, and CC Meyers Construction will be excavating a rain-soaked embankment just east of the Spanish Creek Bridge.

Officials are keeping an eye on a slipping hillside and a leaning power pole that has Highway 70 down to one lane between the Greenville Wye and Keddie, in Plumas County.

Throughout much of California, a seasonal change in colors means that the grass turns brown in late spring – or even earlier.
