Emphasis on public purchasing power to cheer markets

A recent statement made by a leading minister in the Justice and Development Party government on the use of public purchases to support domestic production has received support from experts who say such an emphasis on the power of public demand at a time when Turkey faces a widening current account deficit may prove helpful in reducing that gap.
