It doesn't matter which state they are from as long as they are qualified and do the work cheaper, who cares?

Pryor Biker is right. This particular use of stimulus dollars is actually providing jobs and is being used to support a project that has a more wide spread benefit for us all. If an Oklahoma based company wanted the job, maybe they should have looked a little closer at their bid numbers.

I guess it doesn't matter to Pryor,ok. that has dirt roads, but it seems to be a common theme. The sell out of America/Oklahoma to Mexicans cheap labor and import cars,, give the jobs to card carrying Oklahomans with Americans cars………….

A lot of people are not going to understand this.
This is the way some things work when it comes to road work. If you except bids from only within your area, 1. its against the law, 2. the monopoly will grow to a degree that you will get a fraction of road done by comparison.

Because the main office of a company is not in Oklahoma does not mean that they do not have an office here. Nor does it mean they do not hire Oklahomans. Wal-Mart is not an Oklahoma company, but we still have them here and they still hire people from this state.

That is because people are tired of poor quality American cars and most Mexicans I know are very hard workers. I don't see the problem here.

I never said anything about hiring illegal labor. I think INS should haul every single illegal Mexican back to Mexico. They better do it before Obama gives them free citizenship and healthcare!

Broken Arrow has been burned twice by road companies that turned in low bids. Low bids rarely equal high quality.

Then what criteria would you suggest? Even someone who is being paid a LOT of money can do poor work. We see it in our goverment every day.

the out of state companies can do the highway work cheaper because we have the law against hireing Illegal aliens here and the out of state companies don't have to deal with that. There was a Oklahoma company building a road in Arkansas also so its going both ways

Hiring illegal immigrants is against Federal Law. States must comply.

Haha, Hey Hey Hey, Now, Before it's all over, the so called Stimulus Moneys will have run out and we all will be driving on Dirt roads again, Because their wont be moneys left to finnish what was started, Because Some one Some place Loopeholed the money, into some politions pocket, So some time in the future, they can pave a hwy made of Gold that runs to and from Mexico, which teconely is all ready in place, just some folks are color blind. and im not predugist by no means, I also have Mexican friends, But the friends that I have Also have some remarks about Some of those who enter America illigaly.
I don't mind anyone comeing into this boiling pot we call America, What I do Mind like most others, Is some take advantage of our So called System, to where, the naturally Borned here, sience columbus, have to fight to recive. What's rong with this picture. Back to the Stimluls Road package, every orginazion has miss appropreated the moneys, I see this not to be any different. Good Luck.

I don't really have a solution, or even a suggestion, which is why I've never bothered complaining. Perhaps the city/county/state governments could do a better job looking at a company's history before hiring them. Surely when a company fails a job, it does not go unrecorded.

Thats Exactly Why Our Roads SUCK!!!!! We don't need some out of state-here today-gone tomorrow-Cheaper than everybody else company to fix anything!!!!!!! This farmer mentality of spend as little as possible has gotten us into the fix we are in. Hire a local guy whose livelyhood is based on his Quality and pay him to do the job right the first time!!! Then hod him accountable for his work! Quit hiring the cheapest because we get what we pay for!SORRY ROADS! The county roads in Texas are smoother than the State highways in Oklahoma.

Don't you realize that states have inspectors that inspect the quality of work preformed? There are specifications for every segment of work performed.

Another thing! There ain't nothing wrong with FARMERS!

Even if the company is from out of state, the workers will live here and spend money while working in Oklahoma. Maybe the Okla. companys will bid a little lower to keep the job.

Daily Horoscope for December 15

Cancer

You've got high hopes about someone or something today, and you're confident that everything will turn out well. If a positive attitude is a guarantee of a positive outcome then you have nothing to worry about. But is it? There's a chance that you're being far too optimistic, and confusing fantasy with fact. If so, you'll be in for a big disappointment.
