Man Dies In Kauai Car Crash

A 42-year-old man died Thursday night in a fiery single-car crash on Kauai. The crash happened on Kaumualii Highway just west of Halfway Bridge at about 11:37 p.m. The Kalaheo man was driving westbound in a sport utility vehicle when it slammed into a tree on the side of the highway and burst into flames.

Moped crash critically injures 16-year-old boy

A teenage boy was critically injured yesterday in a moped accident in Kailua. Police said an orange moped driven by a 16-year-old Kailua boy was traveling north on North Kalaheo Avenue when it rear-ended a Subaru sedan that had slowed for traffic ahead near the intersection with Uilama Street.
