"Building for the Future"

Full story: The Daily Union

Matt Borden, a long-time construction worker, knew there was risk involved when starting his own business, but Borden - the co-owner of Flint Hills Remodeling, along with his wife, Angela - is more than pleased with the results of the company the couple initiated back in July.

I was glad to read this in the paper yesterday. It will be good to have someone in the area who will do small remodeling jobs. I, for one, hope they have a great success and stay here in Junction City.

and this IS NOT SPAM!

Just thought I would let you know that I emailed them today about a small problem that needs fixing and received an email back to night asking if he could come out in the morning to check it out.
Can't beat that for service!

And I see my little 'Salina' poster has put his usual "cute icons" on our posts....but don't mind him, you can't fix stupid!

Considering there are BUNCHES of remodeling contractors and out of work builders (after the housing bust) I would call this SPAM.

Other good contractors that do the "small remodeling jobs":

Craig Wolf Contracting
.

"Call John" Remodeling & Repair
.

Flint Hills Remodeling
.

HammerTime Remodeling & Repair
.

Bogen Remodeling
.

Crawford L D
.

Douglas Bowers Remodeling
.

Haynes Construction
.

Boland Construction‎
.

Roy Westover
.

Nardella Construction
.

Ben Kitchens Construction
.

These contractors AND MORE I AM SURE have been in the area, working competently, supporting the community, employing your neighbors and paying taxes.

I wish the best to Matt Borden.

thanks

Hey Hmmm, I am glad to get this list. I have contracted three of these in the past to do work and always got the same old promise..."I'll come out and take a look at it"....never to come..."too busy", was their excuse. One did come and say they would be out to do the work the next week, and no show.

From time to time, I need something so small that local landscapers have no interest in doing, so when I noticed that Borden would also do landscaping etc. no matter how small, I was excited. But thanks for posting this list because I will keep it for further reference. I will also pass this along to another friend who is having a hard time getting one of your posted contractors to come back and finish the job that he "blotched" in the first place.

Just a point.

Don't want to name names as to which contractor you are referring to. That would not be good form.

But in the state of Kansas, any work done on your home by ANY contractor MUST carry a 1 year warranty.

A couple on the list offer 24 month warranties.

Once a flaw, complaint or failure is noted, the contractor MUST respond in a timely fashion.

Any contractor NOT returning to finish or doing a "blotched" job needs to be reported to the city, county and BBB.

Those guys give the rest of the contractors a bad name.

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Virgo

Words are flying around in all directions today, and the conversations will be fast and furious. You might face a lot of distractions and interruptions, or you could get caught up in some rather irritable slanging matches with a certain person. The busier you are, the more fraught you'll become and the more likely to go off the deep end.
