Charley was a wonderful man and his legacy lives on in all those who were touched by his presence in their lives. Charley was my husband's best friend in the Marine Corps. When I lost my precious husband (Sgt. D. Preston Coleman) almost 5 years ago, Charley gave a beautiful eulogy. He stayed true to the motto "we take care of our own." If I ever needed anything, he was only a call away. Unfortunately, this feeling of loss is not new to me. Yet, my heart breaks anew for his family, as well as mine. My two little girls loved him, as did I. He was a link to my husband. We had our own nickname for him (one I gave him years ago while we were stationed with him at the Marine School of Music in Norfolk)- "Honeybun." We love you and miss you, Honeybun - and, we'll spend the rest of our lives remembering you warmly and believing that you and Preston are playing horns together again!

You will surely be missed chuckeddie! You are one of the people I miss most from my years down in SC. My heart breaks that I'll never get to see you again.

You were one of a kind! Gentle, honest and a man of his word. Semper Fi
