Impact Teen Drivers was organized for the purpose of providing awareness and education to teenagers, their parents, and community members about all facets of responsible driving, with the goal of reducing the number of injuries and deaths suffered by teen drivers as a result of distracted driving and poor decision making. The idea for Impact Teen Drivers was conceived by Jon Hamm, CEO for the California Association of Highway Patrolmen , in response to the high frequency of crashes involving teens to which CHP officers respond.

We Correct a Story About an Arrest

This correction today: On September 2nd, Z107.7 news reported that Michael Martin, 24, of Joshua Tree, was arrested for driving on a suspended license at a Sheriff's checkpoint and booked into the Morongo Basin jail. That information supplied to Z107.7 was incorrect; while Martin was cited and detained, he was not booked into jail.
