Waskom VFD thanks community for supporting annual fund-raiser
Thanks to the support from area businesses, individuals, and community groups, the Waskom Volunteer Fire Department had a successful fund-raiser. Jack Dillard did his usual wonderful job as auctioneer and the Waskom High School Cafeteria was made available for the annual event.
Due to high waters, the following Harrison County roads were still closed as of 8:30 p.m. Monday, according to the Harrison County Sheriff's Office: Cox Road at Birmingham Road.

Harrison County investigators arrested two Marshall men in connection with the death of a woman whose body was found in a mud pit by an oil well near Jonesville.
