Officials are investigating the cause of a fire in Johnston City. Firefighters were called to 1013 Barham Avenue shortly after 4:00 a.m. Friday.

A little rain Saturday morning didn't stop folks from coming out to the lake to enjoy some miniature boat racing.

Police say 31-year-old Jonathan Scott Thretford lost control of his vehicle around 2:44 yesterday near Mile Marker 57 southbound, a little less than two miles away from the Herrin/Johnston City exit.

A Herrin woman found a unique way to honor the people who helped her on her journey back from a near-fatal car accident and to make sure that help is there for those who need it in the future.
