At 5 p.m. Friday Laurens and Newberry county investigators were still working on the breakup of a theft right that stretched through both counties.

On Monday morning, around daybreak, firefighters from Bush River, Friendly and Joanna responded to a fire on Riser Road in the The fire started around a television, VCR and satellite area but due to the house being sealed so tight oxygen did not feed it and the fire was extinguished, according to Bush River Fire Chief Blair Long.

Laurens County Sheriff's Office arrested Jimmy Dale Maynard, 31, of Rest Road, Waterloo, and Anthony Brett Case, 23, of Ellis Street, Joanna, and charged each with manufacturing methamphetamines, unlawful disposal of methamphetamine waste and unlawful neglect of a child.

The Laurens County Sheriff's Office has charged three in connection with the discovery of a meth lab at a Joanna apartment.
