Supervisor Dianne Jacob met face-to-face with a group of her constituents in Spring Valley Thursday, discussing the state of the county, and some critical issues affecting the lives of those in attendance.

Cal Fire and county officials gathered Tuesday at a Jamul home to showcase how the owner has cleared thick brush away from the house, installed extra water sprinklers, enclosed roof eaves that can trap flames, and covered slopes with plants that don't easily burn.
