At least it's not named after Obama...but why not name it after a local citizen who has had a lasting impact locally?

Just one more way to confuse people when giving directions or locations. Like telling people how to get to the airport by going over the Napoleon Bonaparte Broward bridge.

And to Joe....Maybe they could have named it for Corrine Brown...The "Cheap Wig Highway".

we dont have an african american president..we have a mulatto president...get it right! and sorry, they cant name any street in my neighborhood martin luther king blvd....there arent nightly shootings where i live.

Other than the cost of new signs, does it really matter when they rename streets or highways? Look at the 20th street expressway, or should we say MLK or Martin Luther King parkway, long time residents as I still call the 20th street expressway. They can rename 9A whatever they would like, I just wish we the taxpayers did not have to foot the bill for the signs, however it will still be 9A or 295.
