Soon after she was born, doctors diagnosed the second child of Rick and Kimmie Kozak of Irvona, who was born unresponsive and not breathing, with Down syndrome and several heart defects.

State Rep. Camille "Bud" George, D-74 of Clearfield County sponsored House Bill 1827 that will now re-designate the Irvona Bridge carrying State Route 53 over Clearfield Creek as the "Mary Ellen Tiesi Memorial 9-11 Bridge." Governor Tom Corbett signed this into law Tuesday, May 8th.
