This is very good news for Palm Springs that their ground is not sinking like it is in Indian Wells, Indio, etc. communities near them.

1. Does anyone know if the underground aquifer is not being replenished because of the drying up of the Salton Sea? Is there a connection?

2. I could not help but wonder what the history of Palm Springs included with regard to founding fathers selecting their location over these other areas?

3. I am wondering if the other areas where the ground is sinking will experience huge sinkholes like other states have found suddenly happening. Can any of you scientists explain whether the situations are similar?

4. Palm Springs may have a lot of new residents in the years to come from towns southwest of them.
