5 accused of vehicle break-ins
Five Lenoir County residents have been accused of multiple vehicle break-ins in the Emerald Isle area, authorities said Tuesday.
Leadership experience: served as chairman of the Carteret County TDB/TDA for six years; served 20-plus years as chair of Carteret County Fire Commission; several count/state agencies; co-founder of Coast Host; co-founder of the N.C. Beach, Inlet and Waterways Association; and founding board member of North Carolina Seafood Festival.
Uncontested races could still bring change
Candidates in four Carteret County towns will run uncontested on Election Day but that doesn't mean there won't be change.

Salter Path man facing drug charges in two counties
James Franklin Jr., 51, of Salter Path Road, Salter Path, was charged Friday by the Carteret County Sheriff's Office with possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver cocaine.
