As fires continue to ravage the Northern California countryside, authorities have called for a number of evacuations in Humboldt and Trinity counties.

The amount of acreage scorched by wildfire continues to climb throughout the state, while the number of personnel and resources dedicated to the firefight shifts slightly.

Meteorologists are warning that another lightning salvo this weekend is likely to spark more fires, even as fire crews struggle to get a grip on the ones already burning around Northern California.
