Retired attorney tapped to serve on 'grand bargain' oversight board

Gov. Rick Snyder on Tuesday appointed a retired bankruptcy attorney from Huntington Woods to serve on a state board that will oversee Michigan's $195 million taxpayer contribution to a fund to shore up Detroit's pensions. As part of a legislative aid package to help settle Detroit's bankruptcy, lawmakers formed the new authority to administer the state's share of the so-called 'grand bargain' money for pensioners.
