Hate to say what every local TPD already knows, The El Camino PD is not worth the cost. Rapes and all kinds of crimes occur right under their noses. These guys are good for writing tickets, that's all. I don't know this new chief, but a record of serving as Maywood's chief of police is a big RED flag. But as usual the folks running El Camino usually have their head up in a place where most of us don't.

Maywood and Huntington Park? Two awful cities that I would not want to even drive through..being police chief of either of these cities is really not an accomplishment, nor is graduating from East LA College.

Doesn't Maywood hire cops that have been fired from other departments?

Folks, got to agree with all of you! Being asscociated with Huntington Park, Maywood and Bell P.D.'s is NOT good. They have a TERRIBLE reputation!! Too bad some of these El Camino College graduates who have retired from local departments didn't apply for the position. Or does that tell you something about the job?? Chief, job action #1: Catch the two sex assaulters and maybe you'll win some local hearts! GOOD LUCK!

El Camino PD does not need a guy who has a long history of Chief's resumes. El Camino PD needs to place a good front line sergeant as chief who has good organizational skills, and a solid knowledge of criminal investigations to develop those officers. Forgive me- that might be too logical for College Executives to figure out.
