Yet I wonder why this is even news worthy. Really, this is all they could come up with for top news stories!

Answer to whatever: They got a press release and somebody typed it up. It's a "top news story" because of the number of people who have looked at it.

DUH! I have seen these (not so smart) tourists lying on the white line to get a 6' lengthier view of the trees just south of Pepperwood.

This had to be the worst article I have yet read in the sub standard. So just what is 430 U.S. Highway 169? I believe California Route 169 is the 3 mile long State Highway from US101 at Klamath to Klamath Glen.

Like it was stated in the recent Northcoast Journal, the Times Standard is bsically now a delivery vehicle for the local advertising circulars.

The ridiculous part is that they actually pay somebody to think up these moronic headlines.

Beat the wife do you? Or do you hang with steers and queers because your an abusive coward that cant grasp the concept of a normal loving relationship? It takes a BIG man indeed to beat on a woman, especially in front of children.(Passengers in the van)An unfortunate incident, sure, too bad it wasnt you.

Wow- what a nice bunch you Humboldters appear to be!
Judging from these posts anyway.
A person who is visiting your beautiful area has an accident, and 10 or so posts do nothing but insult and ridicule?
Thats sad. Most of the people I have met here are nice people.
I might suggest some of you turn off your computers for a while.

What is sad is there are about 10 or so light-hearted posts of people poking fun until the insults and 'higher than thou' judgmental posting starts.

Not that It means much to some. But, lately I have noticed tourist are taking advantage of our area. Skipping out on lunch tickets, not letting people who know the area pass them when we have jobs to get to or loved ones waiting for our return, taking far too many items to the 10 items or less line , or cutting in with one item and then letting the mate come up with a basket full of groceries on the blessing of someone trying to be nice and offer a cut in line thinking they only have one item. If your going to come visit, next time don't forget your manners!!!!!

Thats a big 10-4,Faith.What gets me is those folks down in the valley and below hooking their thumbs on their suspenders and saying"Us Northern Californians know whats best"and promply try to tell us how things are going to be up here on the North Coast.Fact: Rockafeller Forest? Rockafeller has never laid eyes on it.But your right Faith, the rudeness and the inconsideration of SOME (not all) tourists and out of towners is a shame .I hope tho,the old guy that was hit will be alright.

Daily Horoscope for December 22

Taurus

Time is hurtling towards Christmas Day and it seems that you're in a panic about how you're going to get everything done in time. You may even have reached the stage where you've ground to a halt because you don't know what to do first. So take a deep breath, calm down and do things one at a time. Otherwise you'll end up feeling confused, tired and tearful.
