I heard from my relative that is a relative of his that it was because the women were here from California trying to take his wife(their mother) back. It's not right to do that to him because he had her in the nursing home and was very good to her. He never should have let it get to murder though. I am sorry for the whole family.

Well he will probably never get out of that vets home because of his age. He just did not want to be parted from his love apparently. How long were they married.

I'm not sure but His 1st wife and he had been married like 50 years. He was dedicated to his 2nd wife as well. I wonder why it took them so long to decide to send him some place other that the county jail that he's been sitting in for all this time!?. It was a crime of passion for goodness sakes. He was disrout and told them he was going to do what he did if they came out here.

He probably sat as long as he did because it takes time to move these cases through the system. It's not a matter of just saying he's incompetent to stand trial. And old or not, he had no right to take another human life. As far as I'm concerned he was competent when he told them what he'd do if they came out there. That shows some premeditation.

ya I understand how you feel and it was in no means handeled right and those girls were thinking of their mother but they should have taken care with it too and not forced his hand. He really is a good person...he was protecting his rights ,is how he saw it. Like I said it was a crime of passion and he is paying I'm sure. Im sorry for everyone...it's just so sad and I don't know what I would have done in his place if someone tried to overule my decision.

Yeah I'm sorry for everyone involved too. And thing is, he will never be ruled competent at his age. He'll live out whatever time he's got left at that veteran's home. Does anybody know where the wife went? It's all very sad. I think if he had just thought about it he might have handled it a bit differently. His stepdaughters really had no right to interfere unless they had a court order to do so. I still maintain that he had no right to take another human's life. I'm sure he's regretting that decision as well.

Before you start getting all weepy eyed about the husband you ought to hear the wife & daughter's side. It'll throw a whole 'nother light on the issue.
