Killing the four-legged nuisance and make MONEY for the Arkansas Bowhunters Association, Custom Butchering, Arkansas Fish and Game and the Arkansas Hunters Feeding the Hungry program. "Oh", and you will have to visit a sportsman store to by a neat cover to hide the object of your killing from the children who may look up to you.

Bobby Stapleton article in the Pacesetting Times, July 29, 2009 edition seems to be advocating the killing of the "Nuisance Deer" point of view with a strong warring to persons not killing deer in their back yards.

What will he be advocating if an arrow misses the four legged deer and hits a two legged deer playing in the yard or woods? What will be said about the beautiful "Nuisance" being no more the topic of vacationers visiting our area?

What would be said?

"Sir, you missed your target and your projectile hit and injured a person. Is your name Dick Cheney by chance?"

Folks, did you read in the local paper about the four-legged nuisance and a few of the people/business that will make money on the killing of these said nuisance. I believe they were The Arkansas Bowhunters Association, Custom Butchering, Arkansas Fish and Game and the Arkansas Hunters Feeding the Hungry program. "Oh", and you will have to visit a sports Store to by a neat cover to hide the object of your killing from the children who may look up to you and get upset.(Why are they shooting in area where our children may be playing??).......

Bobby Stapleton article in the Pacesetting Times, July 29, 2009 edition seems to be advocating the killing of the "Nuisance Deer" point of view with a strong warring to persons not killing deer in their back yards and who may make the four legged deer, not the two legged, flee the killing fields/woods..Thank you for pointing out the rights of the hunter.

What will be advocated if an arrow misses the four legged deer and hits a two legged dear playing in the yard or woods? What will be said about the beautiful "Nuisance" being no more the topic of vacationers visiting our area? Who will make things right if horse or cow ends up looking like a Porcupine due to arrows stuck in it? Who fixes the fience that was damaged. Who cleans up the trash left behind at the killing zone? I know the answers and so do most of you!

You say the voters elected to ok the extermination, or killing (HARVESTING) of the four legged nuisance! True, but is that the end of it. Ever wonder how many acres, fences, gates, horses, cows, etc. most of these voter have, what they stand to lose? How about the fact that lots of people/business make big money and the land owner gets cut fences and so on out of the deal. True, you can rent out your land to hunt clubs, but what if you don't want to? Will the trespasser get arrested and made to clean up the mess he/she made, if it can be done after the fact? What about taking the trespassers equipment (truck included) and give it to the land owner along with the fine moneys that our courts may, or may not charge them?

I would love to read an article on the cost of hunting and what the average rancher/farmer get out of the deal. He supplies the food and shelter for these four legged nuisances, and the land for the two Legged trespasser. Oh yes, I know that the government will pay you to plant grasses and then dictate what you do after that..........No thank you, I'll pay for the seed and keep my freedom.

It would be a thoughtful thing to do if the people behind this nuisance killing would publish a map in the local news paper identifying what and where the killing areas are, not in some pamphlet that you may get when handing over the money at city hall or some sports store, etc.

Ok, I will be participating in the hunt, If you would keep a open mind just for a second. First Hunters, for the most part, do not litter or damage the land because we understand how important these aspects are to the animal we pursue. We to love deer, but we respect them and their habitat. Fences won't be getting cut or damaged by hunter, actually ask any cattle farmer and deer do more damage to fences by crossing them all the time than hunters do. Horses and cows shot not be shot due to the fact that bows don't shoot very far and most (90%) shots are with in 25 yds of the hunter. We can idenify a deer at that range.Shooting from a tressstand places the arrow in a direct line with the ground, so if a miss does happen, it will either stink in the ground or skid a few tards and stop. Since we must hunt a min. of 50 yds from any occupied residence, road, path, trail, or buisness makes the arguement of shooting a person or a pet by accident so remote that no one should be affraid of that happening.

I would rather see a deer harvested and be eaten than have them ran over by a car or let the herd size grow to a point were desiese begins to spread and kills them slowly and painfully.

I understand yalls feelings, I ask you please don't make hunters out to be stupid or uneducated, because we are not.
